EXAMPLE WITH CALCULATION STEPs:

  • SETP-1

(A) Plaster Area = Area of plastering in Sqm (Length x Height)= 10x10m (Assume) = 100 sqm
(B) Dry Voulmn Factor for Plaster = 1.35= 100x1.35 = 135 sqm* Wet volume of plaster mix is 35 % higher than dry volume
(t) Plaster Thickness = Thickness plaster in Meter= 12 mm = 0.012 m
(E) Extra Added Volume for Bricks Joints = 20%
  • SETP-2

(C) Plaster dry volume in cum = (A) x (t) x (E)= 100 x 0.012 x 1.2 cum = 1.44 cum
(D) Plaster wet volume in cum = (A) x (t) x (E) x (B)= 100 x 0.012 x 1.2 x 1.35 cum = 1.944 cum
Plaster Ratio = (Cement : Sand)= 1:4i.e. - Ceiling Plaster (1:4) - 10 to 12 mm thickness, Wall Plaster -(1:4 to 1:6) - 12 mm to 20 mmSum of Ratio = (Cement + Sand)= (1+4) = 5
  • SETP-3

(CV) Required Cement Volume in cum = (C) x (Cement Ratio/Sum of Ratio)= 1.944 x (1/5) = 0.388 cum
Cement in Bag = (CV) / 0.034722 = 0.388/0.034722 cum = 11.19 Bags* Volume of 1 Bag Cement is 0.034722 Cum
(SV) Required Sand Volume in cum = (C) x (Sand Ratio/Sum of Ratio)= 1.944 x (4/5) = 1.55 cum
Sand in Cft = (CV) x 35.3147= 1.55 x 35.3147 cum = 54.92 Cft* 1 m3 = 35.3147 Cft
Note: Wastage of Plaster is not considered in this calculation

FAQs:

  1. What is Dry Volume Factor for Plaster?

Wet volume of plaster mix is 35 % higher than dry volume so, When we calculate the mix proportion of plaster it should be multiplied with 1.34, its call Dry Volumn Factor of plaster
  1. What is Cement & Sand Ratio?

This is the Volumn ratio of mixing plaster, This ratio should as per your plaster grade i.e. - Ceiling Plaster (1:4) - 10 to 12 mm thickness, Wall Plaster -(1:4 to 1:6) - 12 mm to 20 mm
  1. What is Brick Joints?

The Brick joints is a gape between two individual brick. Its may be considered as 20% of Plaster volumn
