EXAMPLE WITH CALCULATION STEPs:

  • SETP-1

(A) Single Brick size = One brick (Length x Breadth x Height) in m = 0.230 x 0.115 x 0.075 m = 0.00198 cum
(B) Total Brickwork Quantity in Cum = Wall (Length x Breadth x Height) in m = 1x1x1 =1 cum
Mortar Ratio = Cement:Sand = 1:6(C) Dry volume factor of mortar = 1.33
(D) Mortar Thikness in m=10mm = 0.01m
  • SETP-2

(E) Brick size with Mortar = 0.240 x 0.125 x 0.085 m = 0.00255 cum
(F) Brick Required = (E) / (B)= 1 / 0.00255 cum = 392.15 Nos
(G) Total Brick Volumn = (F) x (A)= 392.15 x 0.00198 = 0.78 cum
(H) Mortar Volumn = (B) - (G)= 1 - 0.78 = 0.22 cum
(I) Mortar Wet Volumn = (H) x (C)= 0.22 x 1.33 = 0.2926 cum
  • SETP-3

(CV) Required Cement Volume in cum = (I) x (Cement Ratio/Sum of Ratio)= 0.2926 x 1/(1+6) = 0.425 cum Cement in Bag = (CV) / 0.034722 = 1.22 Bags* Volume of 1 Bag Cement is 0.034722 Cum
(SV) Required Sand Volume = (I) x (Sand Ratio/Sum of Ratio)= 0.2926 x 6/(1+6) = 0.2548 cum Sand in Cft = (SV) x 35.3147 = 9 Cft* 1 m3 = 35.3147 Cft

FAQs:

  1. What is Dry Volume Factor for Mortar ?

Wet volume of plaster mix is 33 % higher than dry volume so, When we calculate the mix proportion of plaster it should be multiplied with 1.33, its call Dry Volumn Factor of Mortar
  1. What is Cement & Sand Ratio?

This is the Volumn ratio of mixing plaster, This ratio should as per your plaster grade i.e. - Morter standard thickness 10 to 16 mm, & Ratio for 250 mm wall 1:6, 125mm wall 1:4
