Easy Way To Calculate Of Quantity Of Materials From BOQ

It takes a lot of materials for construction work, but I will teach you how to easily you calculate the general materials for building a building.

Introduction

What is Material Quantity (MQ) ?

Material Quantity or MQ is the list of individual quality of the material of each item of work mention in the bill of quantity. It is very essential and needed later before ordering the construction materials (i.e.- cement, sand, aggregate, brick, reinforcement steel, etc.). For example, before RCC slab casting, you need to know how much cement, sand, aggregate, and reinforcements you need.

Use of TOOLS 3. Calculation of quantity of Materials

In this tool, you can separately calculate the Quantity of all construction materials (i.e. Cement, Sand, Aggregate, reinforcement, bricks, etc) from each Item Works (i.e. PCC, RCC, Single Brick Flat Soling, Plaster, Brickwork- Morter, etc.)

Example of top 5 building construction material

Cement (in Bags):

Cement used for different purposes like RCC & PCC casting, Mortar & Plaster, Tiles fitting, Brick Work, etc. It typically takes 400 bags of cement for a 1000 square foot floor area of a building.

1 Bag cement = 50 kg of cement

Sand (in Cft):

Cement used for different purposes like filling work, RCC & PCC casting, Mortar & Plaster, Tiles fitting, Brick Work, etc. Typically 1150 cft of sand required for a 1000 square foot floor area of a building.

Aggregates (in Cft):

For Making Concrete aggregate is very essential, Generally 3 types of aggregate use in building construction 10mm and 20mm aggregate use in concrete and 40mm 60mm aggregate use in PCC casting. Typically 1600 cft of the total aggregate required for a 1000 square foot floor area of a building.

Bricks (in Nos):

For making brick masonry and single brick flat soiling brick is used. It’s generally (245x121x75 mm) traditional brick is used for residential building construction. Typically 11000 bricks required for a 1000 square foot floor area of a building.

Reinforcement steel bars (Kg):

For making beam, column, slab, footing, or any other RCC component steel bar is used. Generally amount of steel bar is found out from BBS and summary of result is attached with MQ. Typically 4000 Kg steel bar is required for a 1000 square foot floor area of a building.
